Sacramento, CA - March 18th, 2009
California Ambulance Association honors Anson Daine with "Stars of Life" Award
Thirty-six paramedics, emergency medical technicians and emergency medical dispatchers from across the State of California were recognized as Stars of Life at the state Capitol on March 18, 2009. Among them was Anson Daine, a verihealth EMT, who was recognized for his exceptional performance and natural training ability. Their actions, whether from a single life-saving event or a career-long exemplary performance record, demonstrates they have stood out among their peers as the best of the best among California's private ambulance providers.
Anson began his career with verihealth as an EMT on a basic life support ambulance. He currently plays dual roles as an EMT on a critical care ambulance as well as a Field Training Officer, and is actively involved in the hiring process of new technicians. Anson's natural ability to teach and train is not only recognized and appreciated by management, but by his peers and patients alike. His passion for practicing excellence in patient care and model leadership abilities contribute to the success of verihealth.
Anson obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, and is an active Eagle Scout. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking, hiking, sailing and watching movies and musicals with his wife, Jennifer.
About Stars of Life and the California Ambulance Association
The Stars of Life celebration, sponsored by the California Ambulance Association, aims to bring individual recognition and awareness of the lifesaving care delivered by these EMS professionals twenty-four hours a day. During the event, the Stars were presented with a Stars of Life medal, and attended a luncheon with guest speaker Assemblyman Jerry Hill from San Mateo. Legislators later joined the Stars of Life for a welcome reception in the Capitol Basement Rotunda.
The Stars of Life celebration concluded with an awards banquet at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Sacramento featuring guest speakers Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher from San Diego and Steve Tharratt, M.D. director of California's Emergency Medical Services Authority, who presented the Stars with legislative certificates from the Senate.
Founded in 1948, the California Ambulance Association represents the interests of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation service providers. The CAA views pre-hospital care not only as an essential public service, but also as a critical component of the total medical care delivery system.
