California Ambulance Association Honors Sarah Stemach with "Stars of Life" Award
Thirty-six paramedics, emergency medical technicians and emergency medical dispatchers from across the State of California were recognized as Stars of Life at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento on April 19, 2010. Among them was Sarah Stemach, a verihealth Dispatcher, who was recognized for her exceptional performance and natural training ability. Their actions, whether from a single life-saving event or a career-long exemplary performance record, demonstrates they have stood out among their peers as the best of the best among California's private ambulance providers.
Sarah began her career at verihealth as an EMT-B and Field Training Officer in both field and dispatch. She also worked full-time Critical Care Transport for two and a half years. Most recently, Sarah was promoted to Dispatch Supervisor due to her ability to multi-task while providing superior customer service. Her peers have described her as being reliable, versatile, hardworking and having tremendous knowledge about verihealth and the EMS industry. Wearing many hats at verihealth, Sarah has over 8 years of company-wide experience.
Sarah is interested in furthering her education, and is currently attending Nursing School. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family, friends and surprising her boyfriend, Mike, with travel adventures.
About Stars of Life and the California Ambulance Association
The Stars of Life celebration, sponsored by the California Ambulance Association (CAA), aims to bring individual recognition and awareness of the lifesaving care delivered by these EMS professionals twenty-four hours a day. During the event, the Stars were presented with a Star of Life medal, and attended a luncheon with a guest legislative speaker.
Founded in 1948, the CAA represents the interests of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation service providers. The CAA views pre-hospital care not only as an essential public service, but also as a critical component of the total medical care delivery system.
